We are back in Southeast Asia! We entered Vietnam from the northern border along the South China Sea, and we cycled down the coast to Haiphong, passing by the famous Halong Bay on the way. From Haiphong, we made a detour into Hanoi for Heiko to apply for a visa to Laos. Unfortunately, back in Haiphong, Hannah fell quite sick and when she was still unwell after two weeks, we returned to Singapore for another two weeks to recover. After the long break, we flew back to Hanoi to continue our trip. We first travelled to Ninh Binh, also known as "Halong Bay on land", and then cycled south along the coast to Vinh, where we turned away from the sea and headed into the mountains at the border with Laos.
